Transferred to Duquesne after one season as a walk-on fullback/H-back at the University of Pittsburgh ... started at fullback for the Dukes as a freshman before making the move to outside linebacker in the spring prior to his sophomore season ... responded by earning first team All-MAAC honors ... was following in the footsteps of former western Pennsylvania star high school running backs Trent Wissner (1999-02) and Javonn Bradley (2002-05) who made the successful move to starting linebacker at Duquesne, before moving back to the offensive side of the football during fall training camp.
as a sophomore (2006): started all 10 games at outside linebacker ... finished tied for second on the team with 53 total tackles, one behind leader Todd Mills ... set a new school record with a 98-yard interception return for a touchdown to give the Dukes a 28-0 second-quarter lead in the 38-0 win at La Salle ... put an end to a 10-play Fordham drive by stepping in front of a pass at the Duquesne 20 and returning it to the DU 40, setting up a 60-yard scoring drive that gave the Dukes a 20-10 lead with 3:09 remaining in a 20 -17 win over the Rams ... finished the year with six tackles for loss including 2.5 sacks ... had a season-high nine tackles and blocked a punt in the win at Saint Peter's.
as a freshman (2005): played in all 10 games as the starter at fullback ... his only two non-starts came when Duquesne opened in a three- and four-receiver set ... carried 40 times for 164 yards and three scores ... had just five carries for eight yards in DU's first four games before finishing with a flurry ... all but eight of his yards rushing came in the last six games ... carried 10 times for 39 yards and caught a season-high four passes for eight yards in the rain at Georgetown ... ran for a season-high 44 yards, including a 13-yard fourth-quarter touchdown, on seven carries in the season finale at Saint Francis ... also had an 11-yard TD run versus Saint Peter's ... caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Scott Knapp in the second quarter to give DU the lead for good (13-7) in what turned into a 22-14 win at Marist ... finished the year with nine catches for 43 yards.
