Nov. 5, 2007

Box Score

Duquesne wrapped up the home portion of its 2007 men's soccer season with a 2-0 win over visiting Richmond Sunday afternoon on Rooney Field.

After a scoreless first half, senior Travis MacKenzie scored his team-leading fourth goal in the 49th minute off an assit by junior Evan Browne. Junior Bryan Matthews followed in the 78th minute with his first goal of the season off assists from freshman Nicco Barton and sophomore Alex Trujillo to give the Dukes the final advantage.

Freshman Chris Torres stopped six Richmond shots on goal to register his second shutout of the season.

The Red and Blue travel to Ohio next weekend to face Dayton and Xavier, looking to secure their conference-best sixth straight Atlantic 10 Championship appearance.
