Lacrosse Opens Up Atlantic 10 Championship Against Temple Today

WHO, WHAT AND WHERE: The Duquesne lacrosse team takes on Temple in the semifinal round of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship on the campus of the University of Massachusetts.

DUKES AND OWLS: Friday's match will be the 17th all-time meeting between Duquesne and Temple. Overall, TU leads the all-time series 14-2. TU defeated DU 12-9 earlier this season.

DUQUESNE LATELY: Coming off a 11-10 victory at Massachusetts ... Kat McNish scored with 13 seconds remaining to win the game for the Dukes ... on a four-game winning streak ... making first appearance in the Atlantic 10 Championship since 2005 and first under head coach Mike Scerbo ... seven Dukes were honored by the A-10 - McNish was student-athlete of the year as well as being on the conference first team along with Tiny Harris ... Ashley Wood and Shannon Hadaway were named All-Conference second team ... Liz Fey, Courtney Lambert and Liz Walker were named to the All-Conference rookie team ... Janna Faulkner, along with McNish was named to the All-Academic team.

TEMPLE LATELY: Coming off a 15-7 loss non-conference to #6 Princeton April 23 ... head coach Bonnie Rosen was named A-10 coach of the year ... finished the conference schedule 6-1, winning a share of the A-10 regular season title for the eighth time.
 

 

HIDDEN STAT: Duquesne and Temple have met in the A-10 Championship four times, with the Owls winning every match.
