Women's Track & Field Finishes 11th at 2008 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Duquesne women's track & field team finished 11th out of 12 teams in the 2008 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships held on the campus of the University of Rhode Island Saturday afternoon. Overall, the Dukes earned 20 points.
Samantha Howard was the lone medal for the Dukes as she took bronze in the 3000 meter run crossing with a time of 9:45.43 and earning Duquesne six points. Katie Kelly (10:16.70) finished five places behind, giving DU a one point.
Howard also place fifth in the mile run with a time of 4:57.15 which earned DU four points while Charlene Garth's seventh place finish in the 500 meter run gave the Dukes two points.
In the jumps, Daniela Siciliano earned Duquesne five points in the pole vault as her jump of 10-10.00 was good for fourth place. Sierra Larsuel earned the Dukes two points with her seventh place finish in the long jump (17-2.25).
Duquesne heads to Kent, Ohio for the Kent State Tune Up next weekend.
