Volleyball Team Ends Season With 3-2 Loss at West Virginia

MORGANTOWN - The Duquesne volleyball team ended its 2007 season by dropping a 3-2 decision at West Virginia Sunday afternoon.

In a tight-knit match, the Dukes took game one 30-24 before West Virginia came back to win the next two games 30-28 and 30-25. Duquesne won game four 30-22 forcing a decisive fifth game.

With the score tied at 16-16, WVU scored the next two points to take the match 3-2. The loss ended the Dukes season at 10-19, dropping eight in a row.

Dana McLaughlin ended her career with 24 kills, a person-best along with a team season-high 71 attempts. Jenni Gross, also playing in her final game had 17 kills. Kristin Garnett had a game-high 67 assists in her final game as a Duke.

Nicole Wright had a very impressive double-double of 15 kills and a career-high 36 digs. Amy Palko also had a career-high with 31 digs.

Jessica Artman added 16 kills for Duquesne.
